Raphaela studied Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at the University of Bern. She is currently working as a PhD student at both the SCAN and the University Clinic for Diabetology, Endocrinology, Nutritional Medicine & Metabolism, Inselspital Bern. She is involved in a collaborative project examining the influence of phenylalanine on cognitive, neural and neurometabolic properties of adult patients with phenylketonuria, a rare inherited enzyme deficiency causing severe intellectual disabilities and neurological sequelae if left untreated during childhood. Her research interest primarily encompasses the investigation of impaired cognitive and neural processes by utilising advanced neuroimaging techniques.
