SNF Spark Grant for Richard McKinley

Richard McKinley received a grant from the SNF Spark program (http://www.snf.ch/en/funding/programmes/spark/Pages/default.aspx) for his project "Tensor Field Networks for Spatially Heterogeneous Real World Medical Imaging". Depending on the disease and hospital, MRI images may be acquired with varying resolutions.  Most machine learning algorithms operating on 3D MRI or CT data are trained using standardised datasets acquired in university hospitals, which do not reflect the high variability of imaging data in the real world. In this project, Richard and his team attempt to build machine-learning models which can operate on a variety of different (and unseen) image resolutions, widening the applicability of automated medical image processing.

Congratulations!
